Heroes of Radio
I listened to alot of radio programs over the years. My first heroes were the DJs at my local rock station Z-92... Chuck Yates, Rick Setchell, and those guys. Then I began listening to national radio programs of the day and the following years... first Bob Coburn on Rockline, next Charlie Kendall and Metalshop... and later on, Redbeard and In The Studio, and Dan Neer and the Up Close series. These jocks and others are whom I consider to be the best of the best over the years, because of their sound and style. None of these guys tried to be over the top and attract attention that way, because they didn't need to. They just had a pleasurable straightforward style of delivery and were great interviewers, bringing out the best in the artists they were chatting with. That's all that great radio needs to be, in my humble opinion.
